S.L. Stebel has been called "The best writing teacher that ever was!" by Ray Bradbury, a sentiment echoed by the many writers whose lives and craft he's touched.
A lecturer in USC's Master of Professional Writing program, a founding workshop leader of the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference, and a frequent workshop leader at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, S.L. Stebel also demonstrates the power of his teachings at workshops and seminars at bookstores, book festivals and conferences both in the U.S. and abroad.
He is a novelist ("The Collaborator" and "Spring Thaw" among a half dozen others), screenwriter ("Picnic at Hanging Rock" and "Storm Boy") and playwright ("Fathers and Sons," "Next in Line" and "Breeding") His writing book, "Double Your Creative Power!" now in its fifth printing and 2nd Revised Ed., has been an indispensable reference for both aspiring and established writers since 1990.
